I am Wayne, founder and director of EBS. After 35 years as a roof plumber in Perth, a major workplace accident ruined both my elbows and completely stripped away my ability to work with my hands. I’m not built for a desk job, so I had to find a new path.
Then, a recurring dream hit me three times about a protective boat skin designed to save stricken boats and jet skis. I got up at night, drew it in the kitchen, and searched the internet for months—only to find nothing like it existed anywhere in the world.
I designed the prototype, and after partnering with MID Naval Architects to put it through its paces, I did the ultimate real-world test: I literally punched a hole in my own boat's hull and drove it into deep water. The second the Emergency Boat Skin (EBS) unrolled underneath, the flooding completely stopped, the floor dried out, and I knew we had something life-saving.
With the product proven and the patent officially approved, the next challenge was figuring out how to get this technology out to skippers and marine rescue units who need it. A while later, while having a quiet beer at my local bowling club, I was introduced to Michael. He is a marketing professional, and we got talking.
Over the next few weeks, my eyes lit up. Seeing his absolute professionalism and talent, I knew his growth experience was exactly what EBS needed to scale. I offered him a partnership in the company, and today we're working side-by-side to grow Emergency Boat Skins and make sure everyone, from skippers to marine rescue units, gets back to shore safely.

Before I teamed up with Wayne, I spent over 15 years working in digital marketing for global brands, helping businesses streamline their online strategies and scale up their growth. I’ve always been passionate about companies that make a real impact on people's lives.
And then I met Wayne at the local bowling club.
We started talking; he told me about EBS, and it right away sparked my curiosity. And when he told me how he’d literally punched a hole in his own boat’s hull in deep water just to prove his invention worked, I was hooked. I have no marine background and was fascinated by the life-saving product he has. All he needed was a marketing specialist to help grow his business. Over a few weeks, we worked together and saw so much potential while becoming mates.
I knew the importance and potential of EBS and how it can not only save marine vessels from sinking, but more importantly, lives. I joined the team as Partner and Marketing Director to run the marketing and growth side of things.
